Looking forward to the gatherings for 2026, we are currently planning four:
It's Almost Tax Day Let's have a Pity Party!
Good fun for all!! Bring your tax limericks and jokes! Great snacks, prizes and lots of laughs!! Our first gathering of the year.
- April, 2, 2026 3:30 to 5:30 come join us in the Club Room at the Creekside
- June 6, 2026 (Saturday) at the Dollar picnic area. Please come join us for a potluck picnic.
- September 2026 (date and time, TBD) come join us for the election Town Hall.
- November 2026 Pie Party (date and time,TBD)
We hope you will join us for one or all of of the 2026 events. Each gathering has a different focus, but all are geared to help you make connections with the diverse and wonderful folks who make up Second Mutual.
About Us:
Charter:
Active and involved Members are essential to the success of the community and the Board. A welcome packet starts an open line of communication between the Board and its residents. The Committee will work to create a level of comfort between Members, that results in relationships that will create confidence and comradery between everyone in the community. In order to achieve these ends, the Welcome Committee will:
- Work with Member Records to identify new residents and renters moving into SWCM and reach out to welcome them.
- Provide information to residents to help them navigate departments and processes within the GRF/MOD administration.
- It may, from time to time, organize social events for the benefit of the residents.
- It will follow-up on any questions, concerns or issues presented by at the residents forum of the Board meeting(s).
Committee Membership:
The Welcome Committee is a standing committee, which will be made up of no more than seven members. The Committee will be governed by a Chairperson or Chairs to be appointed by the SWCM Board of Directors. The Board of Directors liaison is (TBD). Meetings are by a quorum of its members. The committee may meet as it determines, but shall not meet less than quarterly. The committee shall report to the SWCM Board in writing and in person, if requested at an open meeting of the SWCM board, but not less than one time prior to the SWCM annual meeting.

Who We Are:
We welcome you to Rossmoor’s Second Mutual. The Welcome Committee is often the first friendly faces a new resident meets. We have a world of knowledge about all things 2nd Mutual that we endeavor to educate both new and existing residents about. Whether it be, how to dispose of all those moving boxes, or who to contact with move in and down the line maintenance issues, etc. we are here to help.

We are also responsible for the five annual SWCM Board Member social gatherings. These are get togethers that allow all Members to meet their neighbors and Board members. These are in person only meetings where, we talk informally about the issues we are having and give/get information about what to do, where to go, next steps, etc. Please join us at both the monthly SWCM Board meetings and the social hours.
Volunteers Needed:
The Welcome Committee needs volunteers to help with it's meeting and social event planning, set-up, etc. We are looking for a new Welcome Committee Chair and folks to help plan the events. If you have party or event planning or marketing experience, we'd love to speak with you. Please complete the Volunteer Application, to get the party rolling!
