EV Charging

SWCM is currently accepting applications for limited EV charging in common area carports pending further study. Unfortunately charging in carports is complicated by the age of the electrical system, the need for cooperative action by residents to share and avoid damage to the circuits, and the inability to meter individual use. Consequently, charging current is limited to 8 amperes, only one vehicle in a string of carports may be charged at one time and a monthly charge will be assessed.

We suggest that members charge their vehicles at GRF metered charging stations and only use the carports to "top off" their vehicles.

 

GRF metered charging stations are located at the Fitness Center, the Event Center and Gateway Administration building.
